Finding furniture that fits

One of the joys of having an old house is all of the funny little gaps and nooks - and the lack of storage space. I'm making it my mission to fill up all of our funny little nooks and crannies with shelves and cupboards to keep out stuff organise and out of site. Some of our areas are so unusual I'm getting custom furnture solutions made - like our kitchen which is not really suited to cooking in this century! If you are also dealing with retrofitting furniture to create storage in an old house, then you'll appreciate the hints on my blog.

Two Tips to Follow When Choosing Hospitality Mattresses for Your New Hotel

Below are some tips to follow when selecting hospitality mattresses for a new hotel.

Opt for firm mattresses

You might be confused about how firm the mattresses you select need to be, as each of your future guests will have their own preference, and it's impossible to choose a firmness level that every single guest will like. However, it is usually best to opt for firm mattresses for a hotel. The reason for this is as follows; mattresses that are soft or only moderately firm will start to sag a lot more rapidly than firm ones when they're in constant use. Sagging mattresses will give your hotel rooms a neglected appearance (even when the beds are perfectly made and the rooms themselves are immaculate), as any bedding that's placed on them will also sag and will, therefore, lack that flawless appearance that makes a hotel stay so pleasant. More importantly, however, they will almost certainly result in guests making complaints about how uncomfortable they are.

As such, firm hospitality mattresses are the best option. If you're concerned that some guests will find them too hard to sleep on, you can always purchase mattress toppers made from memory foam, that will give each bed that cushioned feel that many people like, without you having to worry about the complaints and costs that might arise if you opted for soft or moderately-firm mattresses.

Buy the most luxurious mattresses you can afford

You should ensure that the mattresses you select for your hotel are the best your budget will enable you to afford. Aside from helpful staff and overall cleanliness, most people believe that the comfortableness of a hotel's bed is what determines how good their stay is, and you want your mattresses to reflect well on your facility.

If your guests cannot sleep soundly in your hotel rooms because the mattresses are not comfortable, with springs that poke through the mattresses' covers and annoying lumps that dig into their bodies, they will not feel refreshed when they wake up, but will instead feel groggy and irritated. This sleepiness and irritability may then negatively affect their perception of the other, perfectly-nice aspects of their stay, such as the breakfast or the laundry service, and may result in them deciding never to return to your hotel again. Conversely, a wonderful night's sleep on a luxurious mattress will, for many guests, compensate for any other small inconveniences they could potentially experience during their stay.
